Review #204: Part3 The Hollow Moon- Aoléon The Martian Girl by Brent LeVasseur

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“There are places on planet earth, where common sense doesn't apply.”

                                                          ----Toba Beta, an Indonesian author

Brent LeVasseur, an American science fiction author, pens his very fist children's science fiction series, Aoléon The Martian Girl, and the third book, in the series, The Hollow Moon- Aoléon The Martian Girl, follows the adventures of a regular middle-grade farm boy with a Martian girl to her planet, Mars where they fall victim to some of the greatest and thrilling adventures.

Synopsis:

Aoléon and Gilbert investigate the Luminon to try and uncover the plot to invade Earth to steal it’s milk cows. In the process, they discover a disturbing revelation about the Martian leader. After overhearing the Luminon discuss his plans to use sabotage to disrupt Mars’s galact supply, the duo races to try and to warn Aoléon’s father Deimos, who is a manager at the galactworks plant before the saboteur can act.

Meanwhile, Aoléon has to take her pilots exam, which would enable her to eventually join the Martian intergalactic explorational fleet. However, during the test-run, something goes horribly wrong. The two are put in a life threatening situation that only Bizwat, a Procyon commando, and Aoléon’s friend can save them from.

Gilbert finally gets his chance to learn to skyboard. However, things go horribly wrong and they are chased by the Royal Paladin guard.

Will they survive?

Luminon, the powerful alien and the leader of the city on Mars has threatened to destroy the Galactworks which produces zillions of quantity of galact milk for the residents on Mars. Hearing which, Gilbert and Aoléon embarks upon yet another adventure from stopping the leader to do so. In the meantime, Aoléon is training to be part of the Martian space program and after the training, they set off to one of the moons of Mars where more evil and foul aliens threaten to destroy them. Read the book to find out what happens next.

After reading three books in this brilliantly crafted series, I'd like to hats off to the author for his imaginative skill. He is taking the story of Gilbert and Aoléon to new heights and after indulging myself from all the three books, I can't wait to read where their adventure takes me. I mean, in short, it's a kind of addictive read.

Once again the mind-blowing illustrations kept me turning the pages of the book till the very end. These colorful graphics with eye-popping colors and with intricate detailing which are not only sober and comforting for our eyes, but are also very alluring.

The story is getting deeper with some brain-numbing mysteries to be solved by Gilbert and Aoléon that force them to embark upon some dangerous journey. The characters are all very strikingly and well-developed and the author have introduced some evil characters/aliens which are also quite vividly portrayed.

The writing is eloquent and evocative with articulate narrative that kept me engaged to the core of the story. The pacing is also quite good. This book is a one hell of roller-coaster ride filled with some adrenaline rushing adventures. Overall, it's an engrossing as well as an entertaining read.

Verdict: This book is apt for all ages irrespective of the storyline and a must read for all science-fiction and fantasy readers.
